Though the weather this Spring has been a bit unpredictable and the skies above New York have been unforgiving, it hasn't stopped us from visiting the fabulous design events taking place around the City this month. We've seen many new looks trending for the summer, been inspired by color and pattern and met innovative new designers taking over the design scene. The month of May started off with our trip to the Housing Works Design on a Dime sale which was filled with one fantastic space after another, carefully decorated by a different designer such as Ralph Lauren Home, Jonathan Rosen and Katie Lydon.
Then it was off to the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) to scout out potential accessories to carry for our launch collection. There was a clear trend in utilizing sustainable materials as well as giving modern furniture an old soul. Some of our favorite finds included Inigo Elizalde Rugs, Piet Hein Eek's Scrapwood Wall Paper and O & G Studio. Stay tuned for what could be available at Loom.
We ended Design Week at the Elle Decor Modern Life Concept House where we were fortunate enough to catch up with designer Beth Martin (named Elle Decor's Top 5 designers to watch in 2011.) With her cool, California demeanor, Beth was a pleasure to talk with as she spoke about blending unique designer pieces with more practical, affordable furniture such as Callagris. We're looking forward to seeing more of Beth and hope to get her involved with Loom!
So sit back, relax and be delighted and inspired...and of course, tell us what you liked!
